Sunscreen Safety

Some sunscreen brands contain toxins. Two million Americans develop skin cancer every year. A lower rate of melanoma, the worst of the skin cancers, is seen with daily use of sunscreen.

Try to avoid those brands with Vitamin A in them, as it’s been shown that skin absorption of vitamin A can be hazardous, increasing the risk for cancer.

Oxybenzone not only contributes to low birth weight in girls, it may cause an allergic reaction and disrupt hormones. Keep this on your no-no list for creams too.

One of Dr. Allen’s mistakes is using spray-on sunscreen. Inhaling this is very toxic to our lungs. He’s become a fan of zinc oxide, adobenzone, and mexoryl SX as ingredients to look for.
