What Does “Going Green” Mean at Marc Allen Orthodontics?
We prioritize sustainability at every level of our practice. Here’s how we’re leading the way:
Eco-Friendly Supplies: We purchase materials from trusted, environmentally-conscious businesses. Our drinking cups are eco-certified, and we’ve cut paper towel use by 75% by installing energy-efficient hand dryers.
Paperless Office: We operate almost entirely paper-free, using digital X-rays and iPads for all patient and staff communications. This cuts down unnecessary waste and makes your visits seamless and efficient.
Safe, Natural Sterilization: Instead of toxic cold, sterile liquids, we use steam sterilization to ensure the safety of our patients and team. For cleaning, 98% of our liquid supplies are naturally derived, and we use the environmentally friendly OPTIM 33 for hard surface cleaning.
Green Technology in Orthodontics
We’ve taken additional steps to reduce waste:
Reusable Sterilization Pouches: All specialty appliances and instruments are stored and sterilized in green, reusable pouches—eliminating the need for disposable plastic and paper barriers.
Waste Reduction: Using the spray-wipe-spray technique with OPTIM 33, we’ve reduced disposable barriers by nearly 200 per day.
