In celebration of Earth Day 2012, Marc Allen Orthodontics in Huntersville, NC is challenging patients to share their “green story” via pictures, video or written story explaining how they lead a “green” lifestyle. Contestants should submit their entry via Marc Allen Orthodontics Facebook wall. The winner will be determined by the most “Likes’ or “Shares” of their post. The winner of the “Marc Allen Orthodontics Go Green Challenge” will receive an autographed Hunger Games poster. The contest begins on April 22, 2012 and will close on April 30, 2012.
Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 and began with the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Gaylord Nelson, then U.S. Senator, founded Earth Day after witnessing the 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. As result, 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate the need for a healthy, sustainable environment for the betterment and longevity of our future.
Dr. Allen has always been a staunch supporter of the “green movement.” As a LEED certified member of the U.S. Green Council, Dr. Allen has always felt the need to take every step in reducing his carbon footprint.
