Re-Inventing Yourself

It’s such a joy seeing our patients follow their dreams, and in the instance one dream ends, start another! Carol S. has done just that. A lifelong dancer and musician, Carol began ballet lessons at the age of three and moved into tap and jazz as the years went on and began turning her focus to music.

Carol attended the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. After completing her studies, she won the position of Principal Timpanist for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra where she received rave reviews and garnered respect from audiences, conductors and colleagues.

A career-ending backstage accident turned Carol’s focus back to her original passion of dance. Recalling childhood memories of museum paintings and film, she began her journey of flamenco dancing.

Carol honed her skills by studying with the some of the best flamenco dancers and instructors in the nation and is now an instructor at the World Dance Center in Charlotte offering weekly classes and also performs throughout the region. Most recently, she was featured as a solo performer and debuted a flamenco farruca choreography at the Menendez Noche de Gala in St. Augustine, Florida.
